I actually thought it odd there was no way to run the furnace fan in an RV without burning propane myself.
I installed a 2 position switch in the convenience center with all the other switches. This one, in position 1 is closed on one set of contacts and open on the other set. When switched to position 2 it is opposite. So in position one the fan works as designed with the furnace. When in position two I have a fuse 12v wire directly to the fan and the other open contacts keep it from back feeding Power to the board.
I can now run the furnace fan, sit a forced air electric heater in front of the air return and heat the belly.
Of my 3 tanks, 2gray and one black, the galley gray dump valve is exposed, so that will freeze. Otherwise I can go to 10 degrees above.
I do also run a couple others as well. I do however run this exclusively when it’s parks in the shed plugged in to prolong winterizing just in case that one nice weekend or two pops up before Christmas.

West Marine and probably other boating suppliers have electric heaters with set on/off temps that are UL approved for use in enclosed boat engine compartments. I have used them in my boats for several years to avoid having to winterize and to use boats as desired. They have different size units.
