Wall TV Mount

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2020 Montana 3780 with the Jensen TV's. I am looking to purchase Samsung TV's to replace those for the 4K and HDR. I was wondering if anyone has mounted different TV's than what their trailer came with, and if the mounts were universal for TV's. Would I need to buy a different mount kit, or does the one in the trailer work?

Television mounts and TV wall mounts have a standardized VESA measurement. Similar sized TV's will use the same VESA mount measurements, so you should be able to install any TV that is a similar size on the existing mounts. https://www.oneforall.com/explore/ve...lained#/step-1

They also make adapter plates to go larger or smaller than the TV or mount. Just Google "VESA adapter plate" and you'll find many of them.

Ditto JRTJH and flybouy............replaced tv on my 2014 High Country with a newer smart tv and installed a new smart tv in the outside compartment. Just needed to match the tv with the existing mounting bracket for ease of installation.

You won't go wrong with the Samsung Tv's. I have one in my unit, looking for a smaller one for bedroom.

We are having great sucess with the TCL/Roku 36".
Great for streaming via cell phone hotspot; or WiFi when available.

Haven't TVs gotten really cheap? When my wife insisted we could no longer have the only wood console TV 26" screen in the country and went flat screen shopping and almost died at the prices. Today a 32" flat screen (we have one in our camper) costs just over $100.

In 2004 we paid about $1800 for a Panasonic 40" flat screen to replace the 36" Sony trinitron that was still working but weighed about 250 pounds on it's "custom stand". DW was tired of moving the Sony to clean behind it. Anyway, that Panasonic wasn't anything special, just new technology. We just bought a 75" LG flat screen (about 5 times bigger than the Panasonic) for $700. Much more advanced and significantly better video/audio, and it connects to the internet complete with about 5 or 6 different "pay for view" functions that we'll NEVER use.

Somewhere along the way, we bought a couple of 32" flat screens for upwards of $600. Now they're less than $100 on sale and around $150 most anywhere. The technology has really come down in price.....

Thank you all for your replies. I went with a Samsung 32in to directly replace the TV in the bedroom. The mount in the trailer matches the holes in the TV, so now the only issue is trying to find the correct screws for the back of the TV.

They will be metric. Look in the owner's manual or go online to Samsung; https://www.samsung.com/us/ and you will find the size and the length. The proper length is important as you don't want a screw that's too long to poke thru to the circuit board.

Check the back of the TV before you order screws. On some, the screws to mount it to the wall mount are already installed in the TV, in the proper holes. Just remove them, add the VESA mount and reinstall the screws.

Also, if you're removing a TV from the mount, the same screws should fit the new TV.

I thought the same screws would fit the TV as well, but they are just a little slimmer than the holes for the back of the Samsung TV. The TV did not come with it's own screws that were already in the back of the TV, unfortunately.

I replace the cheap TV in my 2018 Cougar with a larger Sharp (Sharp as it is good enough but at home I use Vizio). Samsung is good but pricier. Mounting was discussed above.

Don't expect 4K unless you are connected to a very hight speed internet. I use a Dish Playmaker and I believe the signal on the 40 inch Sharp is more than good enough and with my solar power, I have excellent TV anywhere I camp. The Sharp consume 70 watts and the disch receiver consume 50 watts. So, my solar system can provide plenty of power. If you never dry camp, then power is not relevant.

Is replacing a tv fairly simple? My husband and I are a little handy with small projects.

Trivial id you have two sets of hands!

The only caution is do not go too big. I do not know what amount of wood is in the wall behing the original smaller TV. I checked the weights of both the old and the new.
The upgraded TV I installed weighed about the same as the OEM TV so I assumed the mounting wall structure was adequate. I also created some velcro straps to go around the TV when I travel so it doesn't respond to every bump in the road.

Just changed from a 2011 samsung to a 2019 larger samsung. Bolt holes etc where OK but needed longer bolts for the new TV as they where set in a little deeper on the tv. Home Depot cured the problem for a buck something with 6 screws so have 2 spares.

^^^^^x2. As I noted in another thread Samsung is the only TV I buy anymore. Owned lots of them but they are the best IMO. I will say that our last trailer (14 Cougar High Country) had a Vizio in it and I told the sales guy when looking at it I would replace it upon purchase; I was wrong. I was very pleasantly surprised at not only the picture but the sound, which is usually the reason I get rid of an new HD tv. The Vizio was actually pretty good and kept it until I got rid of the trailer. Now, a Furrion? With TV only and the max setting of 39 I could hear it if I turned everything off and put my ear over the front of the TV. But the saving grace was the Furrion stereo and Furrion speakers; I could turn the TV to max, the Furrion stereo and Furrion speakers to max and comfortably listen to a TV program at maybe a foot in front of the TV/speakers - absolutely terrible. Fixed now
