I bought the steel version and use a Reese puck adapter and requested the steel funnel after seeing the new red plastic funnels getting torn up if you are not closer to the ball. But will never go back to the boat anchor plate hitch after using this one for 2 years.

It was just announced that Jack Welsh just died. He took GE from a 12 billion dollar company to a 450 billion-dollar company in his reign. When Jack spoke people listen.

I've had mine for about two years. Totally eliminated "bucking and chucking." Until last week I would pull with two different trucks, since my Anderson uses the rails, all I do is pull four pins. Literally, five minutes and I am in the other truck.
My vehicle moved forward and it cracked the plastic funnel. Called Anderson and they sent me a new one the next day. No charge. I could not be more pleased.

I've had mine since "before the advent of the funnel" ... does it really make that big a difference? I may have to get out and look a couple times before I get my fore and aft position exactly right, as I make sure I'm perfectly aligned before lowering, but it's not that big a deal.
I tried using my and my wife's phone in facetime mode (remote camera) but the lag made it easier to just get out and look.

I bought mine used and it came without the funnel. I eventually added it and, IMHO, it makes a very nice difference. It's a lot easier to get "close" than it is to be "exact" in aligning over the ball. I didn't know they had a metal funnel.

If you add the funnel to an older hitch you might also need a newer ball, which sits a little higher to allow for the funnel to seat on the ball when the ball is at the lowest setting. If, like me, you use the ball higher than the lowest setting then the old ball works just fine.

Love mine. Pulls great and is light enough that my wife can lift it. If you have a roto flex head you will need a lockout kit that anderson sells.

I also have a short bed Ram and I turned my mount around on the pin so the ball is behind the pin. You don't have full turn when backing but it rides much better.

Thank you guys for your comment, since I have been in this search I did email Anderson and MorRyde about will this work with my pin box, I have the MorRyde Pin Box.

They both told me that if I wanted to use the AUH that I will need to get the MorRyde Reinforcement plate, this is where I take off the plate that is attached to the pin box and install the reinforce plate, which cost on Amazon $204.00. Do anyone that have both the MorRyde and the Anderson hitch know anything about that?

I'm not familiar with that plate. Is the issue that the current plate isn't stout enough? Which Morryde hitch do you have?

We love ours. No problems. Light weight is a plus for me and putting in and taking out is a breeze.
No matter what stories, opinions or experiences everyone else has it has been a very good hitch for us and I have confidence in it.
I'm a believer.

As many other folks have said... I love mine! I have a bad back and it's easy to remove at 35 pounds. No more clunking and it's much smoother to pull.

Had mine 4 years and love it. No need for me to put anything else in my bed, but I have had my Green Mountain Grill and a generator back there with plenty of room.

Okay, thank you guys for your comments, the plate that MorRyde recommends is to replace the bottom with a thicker one and the plate only allow forward and backward motion and not the side to side motions, now that is $211.00 more.

Both Anderson and MorRyde said that.

Anderson hitch

I made the switch from the b&w companion to an aluminum Andersen. Love it because it weighs 35lbs. I have 30,000 miles of trouble free towing miles

We have had the Andersen hitch since we bought our 5’er and it’s been working fine. Makes hooking up the trailer a breeze and no bucking or chucking going down the road. We have the older version with the metal funnel instead of plastic and really we don’t have any problem hooking up. I can see in the rear view mirror to center the ball left or right of the coupler, and usually pretty close forward or back. Maybe 1 or 2 minor adjustments and it’s done.

I'm on my 2nd 5th wheel toy hauler. Both the same size and weight, just under 13k lbs. and 39ft long. The AUH is the only hitch I've pulled a 5th wheel with. I have no complaints, no reason to think I should have bought a different hitch. I considered all those mentioned by others. Simple to use, easy to store away when not in use, and haven't considered anything else since. You wont regret this hitch.

This is the plate that both Anderson and MorRyde said I needed but I change my mind and I'm going with the PullRite Superlite #2600.

Thank you everyone for your comments and input I deeply appreciated it.

Well, it came in the mail today and I open it up and wow this is heavy duty which I love but I want be able to take it out to my 5th wheel until coming Friday.

I was thinking about going with the Anderson hitch but both Anderson and MorRyde said that I would need a reinforcement plate for my MorRyde king pin, which is another $210.00 that I would have to spend. I didn't like that ideal and I wanted to do it right if I'm going to tow my 12,700 lbs fiver.

I was looking at the pullrite, but like you, I have the OEM pucks for my GM and it was going to cost me to buy adapters, soon as I saw that I left the site. No doubt it is also a quality product.

Do you have the gooseneck ball hitch in the bed of your truck, that's how I will be doing my, they do make an adapter were you can use your four puck system. This one come with the rail for your puck. https://www.pullrite.com/2400

Man this thing is very solid and feel strong, I was going to go with the Anderson but I needed to buy a reinforcement plate for my MorRyde king pin that cost another $210.
