Yes it does separate into 2 parts. The head is not so heavy, but the base is quite heavy for an ol' fart like me. If I have a helper I can manage it, but by myself I would rather use my cherry picker. Makes it a helluva lot easier.

B&W Hitch

I have had B & W Hitch on my last 2 trucks. Just updated to a B & W Companion Slider hitch with my short bed Ford. I probably will not have to use it much but it sure made it easier to get in my driveway. It use to take me 12-14 moves to get in my driveway but with the slider I do it in about 4 moves. Plus I do not have to worry about hitting my cab and window. It works really well. I have the puck system so it will take a couple of guys to remove because of the weight. I would buy a cherry picker but no place to put the picker when not using it.
