50 amp to 30 amp

Looking at possibly going camping at Christmas in our Cougar fifth wheel. Campground only has 30 amp service left. Never reduced 50 to 30. What is the biggest thing that I will miss not having 50 amp? Don’t have to worry about AC that time of year. Will all outlets work or what will not work.

Nothing to it at all this time of year. You don't need 2 ACs (or even one hopefully). You do need a 50 > 30 A dogbone. Very inexpensive. You need to understand that when you do that your trailer was designed to be able to run on 50A service (actually 100A) and you will be reducing to 30A. You have to always keep that in mind when trying to use the microwave, space heaters, curling irons etc. Those items can by themselves take up 1/2 your amp capacity. Just manage your power usage.

Just be careful and don’t run the blow dryer and the microwave at the same time. Not sure if you will run a heat pump but if you do just mange you’re power and you’ll be ok.

Everything will work. Both ACs will have the ability to run, just make sure you don’t.

If where you will be is cold and you want to run a space heater you could used an extension cord thru a slide crack to the space heater... Most 30amp poles also have a second 20amp receptical to plug into..

Run your water heater and your fridge on propane only, and just be aware of what you are using. If you trip a breaker, just reset it and know that whatever things you were using doesn't work work together.
