Smile Back for more

We bought our first new RV in July after owing a used Class A Pace Arrow motorhome and a Dutchmen fifth wheel. The new rig is an Outback 298RE and we love it. We also bought a new Ford F-150 truck with Eco Boost to tow it. The numbers all looked good but to my pleasant surprise it's even better on the road. With the small tow package the truck is rated at 9800 pounds of towing capacity so no sweat towing the Outback thanks to the twin turbos. The Outback weighed in on the scales fully loaded (very little fresh water and no waste) at just over 7900 pounds. This is a great combination. Our dealer, Holiday World in League City, Texas has been great as well.

Yep, that's a nice setup. Just keep an eye on your truck's cargo capacity. The rear axle is usually where people max out. What's the door sticker say for your cargo capacity?

Jerry,

Welcome to the forum. Since you're not "new to RVing" I'm sure you have some stories to tell as we all do. Join in, check out what's going on and get your feet wet.

Having a new RV can be a challenge, but it sounds like you're off to a good start with the rig you selected.

We look forward to hearing more from you, and again,

John
