Black/Grey Release Handles - Simple Mod

Many forum members posted a caution about Keystone reversing labels on the black and grey tank valve release handles. Thank you all for that! I checked mine before I left and realized the labels were reversed - luckily prior to my first trip! So I reversed the labels only to have them blow off during our trip to Myrtle Beach. Luckily I remembered which one was which. When I returned from my trip I thought of a simple modification that solved this problem forever without having to put on any new labels. I purchased a can of grey plastic coat spray paint at home depot and simply painted the grey tank release handle grey! Now I have a black handle for the black tank and a grey handle for the grey tank - confusion never more and no more tacky labels!

Yea that must have been the same guy who decided to put our outside receptical right over the vent for the hot water heater. We have to drape our cords up and around our awning arm to keep from getting messed up.

I think when I got mine he had been promoted to "Quality Control Screwer". Never saw so many messed up screws in my life on one. I actually had to pay an RV repair guy 150 to re set ALL of the screws in my ladder. He used to work at Coachman in Riverside, Ca until he broke out on his own. He said thats what happens when they strip it with the screw gun. he rotated the round disk, filled in the old holes and re set the screws PROPERLY. Not a problem now in almost 4 years!!

My trailer didn't come with any labels. I rattle canned the grey handle and also tapped off a rectangle on the frame above the handle and painted that as well.

I have a 2012 31SQB and also have a galley valve pull located under the slide. The other two are located at the main line where they are easy to get to. I too plan to move mine (to where the others are located) as soon as I get a little time. Will cut into the galley line, add a valve and glue it. Don't forget to clean the pipes good, cut your ends square, use primer, and use the correct glue for the pipes you have. There are different types of pipe glues and primers. It will probably take longer to buy the parts than to actually do the mod. It should be relatively easy.

Oh, and mine have labels although they look like they could easily fall off. If they do I'll just pull and sniff….that'll tell me which one is which.

Same issue with mine. The black valve is just before the front wheel, under the slide. It kinda stunk when I had to crawl (in the mud) under the slide to dump.
