Level and where and what?

What do you all use to level? I have about a 2 foot level, and no matter where I put it its got a different reading all the time. I try the floor in front of the fridge and it was just a little off and as I look at the camper from the front I can tell its lower on the driver side....

Ken, When I level the camper in the camp ground I use a torpedo level in the entrance door way. I usually level side to side first, to see if I need to put boards under the tires after that I un-hook. I will than level fore to aft once that is level we put out the slides and drop the back stabilizers. I have found this seems to always work and I do not trust the mach 1 eyeball for leveling. I am not a mason and do not have faith in the old mach 1 eyeball for leveling.

I level inside the doorway, but that’s a good indication of the rest of my trailer. My rear bath is a hair lower at the drivers side. I use a bubble disc level. How different is the reading when you move it around?

The fridge isn’t *that* picky these days, so close is good enough. I’d suggest that you level according to where you spend the most time and can feel a difference. Some feel that the kitchen should be the most level since that’s where you work with fluids and would notice the difference.

Hi. the fridge is not as picky about being perfectly level like it used to be years ago. so as long as you don't fall over (before the adult beverages kick in) you will be fine. i also use a small level in the doorway. the dw looks at the level and then does want every wifey does... tell me where to go!

4 foot level across the tongue to get the side to side level first. Then a torpedo level on the floor or counter as well as tongue for the front to back. I also recheck several times in all directions because I'm a nut.

Wow, I leveled once in front of my house then attached a large side to side level on the pn box, and a front to rear smaller on the side near the landing gear switch.

Arrive at destination, open rig, turn on A/C, pour healthy measure of single malt in crystal receiver, place said scotch on table at the most comfortable chair in the house and then proceed to level. When scotch line looks level, quit working so hard and drink said leveling tool!

Works everytime.

Small torpedo level on the tongue is all I seem to need. I double check the freezer with the little round one I leave in there and it and the frame seem to agree.

Well, I think all of the respondents' methods for leveling are just fine - especially the one regarding single malt in a crystal tumbler!
However, I always level our 5er by placing a torpedo level on the stove and/or counter adjacent to the stove. The DW is happy when the stove is level - and if the DW isn't happy...................... We really love this forum!!

Small torpedo level on the kitchen counter.....side to side first, then front to back.

Never had a complaint but I'm thinking of trying jdoug's method because it's always good to have alternatives.

I get it as close as I can side to side using a pin-box level than front to back is easy with the landing gear and tweak with stabilizers. I know! Stabilizer jacks are not for leveling "But that's the way I was brung up." Electric and water ... awning out. Now it's time to test the operation of the fridge. 34°F brown bottles on bottom of door ..... Perfect. The rest can wait till mañana.

Be careful with the Scotch!!! It could cause you to never find level. You may think your level but wonder why you fall into the bathroom when you're trying to get to the sofa!

I always use six inch torpedo level in the fridge. Then go out and purchase the small $ 5:00 hoppy levels that tell you how many inches you need to be level on the outside of trailer. Works for me and usually everthing is very close to level between the floor counters and the fridge.
