Tripadvisor account deleted

Received this email and promptly deleted my account. I had over 180 reviews.

Not meant as some sort of statement but this company promoting a lifestyle I very much disagree to will no longer be part of my life.

I suppose in today's climate that to remark that as a 72 year old horsepower freak, commenting that I thought that being invited to a 'drag fest' was something to look forward to would be improper to say the least.
I have been looking for a new home page on the laptop because of Yahoo's political leanings. Almost impossible to find a page that is not leaning left or right.

You know, that's what DW says about me every time I get up or get out of bed; "you're doing that thing again like your Mom....bent way over to the left....right...." etc. I tell her it's just a sign of the times....and so many maladjusted "parts".....

I would urge everyone to do a simple search on any company, from sellers of underwear to media and see what their policies are and if you wish your money to go to those interest. Don't patronize those companies that put your money to work for interests that you do not approve of.

That's similar to what my DW says, only it's about how sometimes I may not walk like a duck but sound like one. That can also happen when bending over more in the middle vs one side or the other.

When I opened my chrome browser this morning and the google search page opened, WOW... had another rainbow flag with a "PRIDE" notice emblazened across the bottom celebrating "trans" individuals. Chrome and google are now gone and replaced by Firefox and DuckDuckGo. Seems that the far left runs these tech companies and shoves their agenda down my throat increasingly. Guess I am getting old but I find this more than distasteful.

If you had to duck every company, group or person whose ideals and motives didn't line up with yours you would be one busy person.

I have a hard time figuring out why pride parades and that lifestyle would offend folks.
Hate is an overrated emotion. Maybe being raised in the big smoke offers lessons in tolerance and cooperation?

I have no issues with someone or some group marching for inclustivity, I really dont hate anyone or any group and realize it just makes my life float along a bit easier in the process.
I will say though It seems there is pride in every group and that pride is generally welcomed unless you are a white southern male, THAT bothers me.

I don't hate anyone. Just don't like agenda being stuffed down my throat. I am who I am and pretty much a white southerner. Anyone who doesn't agree with the agenda of the "pride" gaggle hates? Why is it if you don't agree with me you aren't the hater?

I guess it depends on how white southern males celebrate their pride. If you celebrate by causing a less than positive message or damage to private property or the infringement of others rights, that just might be the price you pay. Isn't white privelege enough, does that really need to be celebrated?

Sorry if you felt I was pointing my message at you. It was not meant that way. That is why I didn't quote your post.

But what if other groups celebrate their pride by burning things, destroying things and casting a less than positive image. I think there are some in ANY group that we should not look too for guidance on ways to act in public.

And As a Boy raised by a single mom who worked 2 jobs in a singlewide trailer in rural west virginia The only priviledge I enjoyed was a beating when I got less than B's on my report card. My high school was 170 kids 7th grade -12 grade and my graduating class had 27 kids with 3 of those left over from the year before, we were not academically gifted and colleges tend to put you at the rear of the pack in those situations, But trade schools dont!

And I will say with 100% certainity that as a Father with a Chinese daughter we adopted when she was 6 months old and is 24 now, that as a minority she was certainly afforded several additional opportunities that our 3 other children werent afforded in terms of grants and tuition assistance because she was a minority.

And really, why Cant I be proud? I mean I work hard, support my community, support others less fortunate, enjoy clean fun and try to be less of a nuisance than my father was!

If picking cotton, topping corn, hauling hay, milking cows, working after school and summers in a machine shop, not playing sports so I could work and help out the family, working two jobs so my children didn't have to grow up like I did; is white privilege maybe a whole lot of folks fussing about it should get them some of that privilege.

Let's be careful where we tread with this thread. So far we have had a calm rapport, but these things have a way of vectoring off into muddy waters. Consider yourselves warned, keep calm and chive on...
