We've been talking about traveling when we retire for quite a while, but thought RVing would be too expensive. The only option, we thought, was a motor home. Boy, were we wrong! We went to an RV show in January and to a person, everyone recommended 5th wheels. After looking and pricing them, we realized we could 'pull this trigger' now. So two weeks later (Feb 10) our house was on the market and closed on Mar 15th. We downsized to a one BR apartment and started shopping and researching. We bought our 2017 Hideout three weeks ago and picked it up yesterday! In the mean time, we bought a 2015 Ram 3500HD to haul it with. Our intent is to take it out as much as possible between now and November when we will both retire (at 57
) and hit the road full time. Can't wait! I retired from the Army (Hooah!), served on a church staff and am serving in public safety. My wife followed me around for 20 years in the Army so three years ago, I followed her to TN so she could go to work for Dave Ramsey. We are researching everything we can with regards to RVing and hope to get a lot of help from you experienced folks!
