just bought a 2015 passport 2920. Our first camper!!

Is there anything I need to know about this camper? We are new to camping and are excited for the snow to melt!!!

Hello, welcome and congratulations on your new camper from a fellow north woods Wisconsinite.
we are about 70 miles East of you.
You did not say if you have taken possession of it yet. If not there is a great PDI (pre delivery inspection form) in the Keystone questions section of this forum. Print it out and take it with you when you go to pick it up. and take notes.
There is also a new rv owners list in the prospective owners section. You most likely will not need or use every thing on that list but its a good starting place to stock your camper.
Use the search feature of this forum to look up questions you will come up with and if you cant find the answers, post the question and someone(s) will answer it.
have fun getting to know your new home on wheels.

Congrats......only one thing you need to know....USE your TT often. You will be creating great memories for you and your family. As for this crazy state of WI we live in, snow cover will be gone by the end of APRIL (hopefully).

Be prepared to accumulate "stuff". Then later discover you have stuff you've never actually used. It seems like we add 50 lbs of extras during camping season, then periodically get rid of what we never actually used.
If I go to the RV store for a replacement drain cap, I'll leave with more than I can carry.

Congratulations from Appleton, WI! We are on our second TT. I agree that you collect more than need and occasionally need to empty the stuff you never use. I could not believe the stuff we got rid of after upgrading after 10 years. One thing I will never regret is keeping a journal or log book of each of our adventures. We write the date, campground and site # in the margin and log a journal each night we camp. It is a wonderful way to keep those memories vivid. It is also a blast to go back and read about it years later... For you and the family! This is one of our favorite things we did since getting our first TT 11 years ago. Enjoy the years to come of enjoying our wonderful state!

The journal is a great idea. Take the warnings about checking the lug nuts seriously. Until they seat through paint on the wheels they do loosen occasionally. Number one suggestion is have fun. We can't wait to get out in 2014 Passport 238ML again this year.

Welcome to the club! My wife and I just bought our first RV, as well. Passport 2890RL. Neither have rv'd before. Did the walkthrough last Friday and took it to storage from there. Guy said it usually takes an hour or so, but with me it took two hours. I like details. My wife says I'm anal. Planning a local trip to a RV park to turn everything on and push all the buttons. If you're like us, you don't know what you don't know. Tried backing up. Very humbling experience. I'm sure it will get better with practice. Been buying all the extras until the time we hit the road. Amazon seems to have best prices. Good luck!

Congrats. We've got a 2013 model 2920bh. Like it very much. Spend As much time with it as possible. My oldest daughter turned 16 last week. She will be busy ask summer. Still Hoping to use it a lot.

Spent a week in upper Michigan last summer on our 19,000km trip (Maritimes, New England states and northern states) in our Dutchmen T@DA. Great for travelling but upgraded to a 2015 Sprinter for our 5 month camp hosting gig this summer. My wife kept a excellent journal complete with her art.

Newbie here, too! Passport 2890RL. First trip is next week. I'm trying to keep it functional and light (better mpg for my TV), while my DW is trying to pimp it out! OMG!

Try everything several times at home. Just be patient as you are learning how. If you want to use the fridge on your trip either run it for 8 hours or so before you want to put food in it. Takes awhile to get cold but works well once cold. Don't trust your black and grey tank gauges. Enjoy and have fun.

Not to discourage you, we love our passport BUT...get yourself a Phillips screwdriver and tighten (not too tightly,as not to strip anything out) every screw in the entire trailer, inside and out. Attention to detail is not a part of ANY manufactures' vocabularies. It's just the industry standard. They slap them together as fast and as cheap as they possibly can. I would estimate that 85% of the screws in my new trailer were at least 1 turn loose. Just take a little time to tighten all the loose screws and secure the dangling wires underneath the front end of the trailer and you'll be fine.
