running lights on while parked

Is there any way to turn the 5th wheel running lights on while the trailer is parked?

Sure is! Run a jumper wire from the hot to the running lights in the trailer pigtail.

Jumper the 7 way. If your looking at the TRAILER end, with the raised portion at the 12:00 position, the two on each side (11:00 and 1:00) will jumper your trailer battery to the clearance/running lights.

Push a jumper wire into #3 & #4 on the trailer connector plug. I would upgrade all bulbs to LED first to limit amp draw. JM2¢, Hank

I used a small amp fuse as a jumper. Probably useless but made me feel better.

I carry a turn signal relay that fits perfectly to jump the two pins in case of breakdown and I have to leave trailer. It makes all the lights blink like a Christmas tree!

I followed the loom of wires through the hitch to inside the front compartment and added a switch there to a hot lead from the house battery. Even if I forget to turn it off, it's not going to hurt anything hooking up to the TV, it's all 12v. And yes, I have all LED's. It's just a safety measure that I hope is never needed.

I pop a fuse in it during campfire time at the beach (Pismo), and shut off at quiet time. Just don't be one of those people flashing when camped or leaving them on all night.
