Well, you know what we say here in Virginia, if you don't like the weather, just wait a day, it will change.

Well up here in the north we are confused by this thread. Its more like WHERE IS SPRING? We would be very happy to see 50 degrees and not have a forcast that calls for 4 to 8 inches of (#*%&+!) snow Thursday evening Oh well, Maybe in May

We woke up this morning to about 4" of fresh WET snow on the ground and up to 12" forcast between now and Friday. That poor robin that was pulling worms from that muddy spot in the front yard will have a tough time this morning finding anything that isn't covered in white. All the stumps and deadfall out back is again covered as is the drive, road and all the tree branches. Thankfully the trees aren't budding yet, so we won't lose the limbs to the heavy wet white stuff..... Spring? I'm beginning to think global warming is all a hoax (had my doubts to begin with)

Hmmmm Maybe if everybody builds a huge bonfire????? Nah, probably just a waste of good camping firewood.....

The heat is finally here in central Georgia. Yesterday 82 and today about 82.
Rain probably tomorrow and that will probably be the end of our rainy season then the HEAT IS ON.........

Pretty soon I'll be wanting winter back. But not - at least - until my new pool heats up! I am SO ready to go in.

After the winter weather we've had, I'm loving life right about now. Great working weather, heavy equipment rolling and dust flying. It just doesn't get any better than this.

I got tired of waiting for spring so we headed South. 80F daytime 65F nights .... windows open ,birds singing, the Gulf is a brisk 72F and crystal clear ...... Life is good ..... my only worry is if the tide will reach my chair. I think we drove right through spring somewhere near antiqfreq's home and went straight to summer. Oh well .... time for another cocktail. Travel safely, Hank

That's what we were just told by the park ranger at Utah Lake SP!!

It was minus 3 deg cel last night and fresh snow on the surrounding mountains. And we came from the great white north. You know that frozen, barren land where all those crazy Canucks live. Who would have thought that it is a lot warmer there than here. I know.....we're in the mountains in Utah ...what else should I expect?

Weather along our route to Texas has been, well.........JRTJH knows all the right words.

I used to like you Hank but The thought of you relaxing in the warmth and sunshine is really getting to me (along with JRTJH and others).

Gotta go and crank up the heat in the Cougar.

Festus2 -

It was much warmer in the Fraser River Valley than the (southern) Red River Valley today. In fact, far north Texas got a little snow!

What is your planned route from Utah to Texas?

Our planned route since we left home has changed a few times due to weather conditions.
However, we may have seen the worst but Mother Nature has the final say.
From Provo, UT, we plan to follow hwy 6....70.....south on 191/6 to 40
Then east along 40 to perhaps Amarillo? Not sure of route From then on.

I need to consult Ron aka geo our travel guide.

Festus2,

Ever heard of VOODOO???? Well, in the deep swamps of Louisiana, there's another version of that called HOODOO.... The HooDoo queens do some things with pins and knives.... SO..................... If this doesn't work, I guess we just gotta wait till "whenever"

Right now, it's winter advisory for up to 1" of ice followed by snow/ice mix with accumulations up to 10" by Friday....

With great luck, Festus2 did not head into this weather on his way to Dodge City to meet Marshall Dillon. This picture was taken Wednesday morning, April 10 just north of Laramie.

JRTJH - I like the Atchafalaya touch to the end of Winter!

A friend of mine just sent me this picture of his front yard this morning. He lives about 75 miles north of us. His wife told mine that they aren't planning to go anywhere this weekend. They have 12-18 inches of new snow predicted between now and Sunday morning. I guess we've "got it good" with only a foot on the ground
