Washer/Dryer

Have purchased a 2019 Carbon 347 and the washer dryer hook-ups are in the middle of the garage, wondering how people may have vented the dryer in a similar set up or do you just have to go with a non vented dryer?

I don't have the same make or model as yours, but we are in the process of having a washer and dryer installed in ours. The washer and dryer location is along the outer wall, and we are going with a vented dryer. That means a hole will have to be cut in the side of the trailer to accommodate the dryer vent.

Looking at the floor plan of your model: click here, it looks like you'll need to run a duct from the middle to an outer wall, most likely, through that cabinet, or under it, if there is no provision to take the ductwork straight down through the floor.

Go to 4:45 (4 minutes, 45 seconds in the video). Not much info, but shows a good shot of the washer/dryer area. This is a 2017 model video, but looks like not much has changed since then. It's still the same floor plan. More current videos did not show the washer/dryer prep area as well.

A couple things you may want to pre-prep before installing; lay a sheet of plywood under the washer on the floor so the feet of the washer won't rub holes in the floor, either with use, or when traveling.

Second, that area is going to get it's share of "bounce" when traveling. Find a way to secure the washer and dryer so they won't bounce around and slide away from the wall.

Good luck.

We have a '12 Keystone Raptor 395LEV with a 12' garage and a center washer/dryer hook up probably very similar to yours.

Granted, we've not lived in ours for months on end, but we did purchase the "ventless" washer/dryer combo unit. For the money we paid we could use the local laundry in any of the campgrounds for almost 250 times for the money spent on the washer/dryer unit.

In our case we've used it a few times this past summer and the dryer cycle takes literally hours to dry clothes. Also with the ventless unit, it uses around 35 gallons of water for the condensation system to extract the moisture from the hot air.

If ours would have been a side mount of the garage, we would have done the side vent out through the wall. I probably could have taken down the belly and looked what was under the floor in that area, but that was a way larger job than just getting the ventless to begin with.

I doubt we would ever buy a washer/dryer again.

Just our thoughts and I'm sure many of you have washer/dryer combos that work just fine vented.

Thanks for the reply's, not sure what I'm going to do, really do not want to go ventless. Might contact some dealers and see what they gave for options. I think its in a stupid place not having a good option to vent is kind of useless

Among RV'ers all over the country, ventless dryers are not popular. Do what you have to to get a vent somewhere.
