Water pressure should be in the 40-50 psi range.

I don’t think there’s a need for higher than 50, and it’s nice not to stress your plumbing. Is it adjustable?

Pressure regulators

Well, I had a Camco regulator which was totally unsatisfactory from a flow standpoint. I recently replaced it with a Watts regulator which I set to 50 PSI. It was a big improvement. I then hooked directly to the tap after testing the pressure which was 50 PSI.

What a difference! The flow was much better, especially on the toilet. I suppose that I could get a larger regulator ( like a Watts 1 inch NPT model), but I think that I am going to just check pressure and use the regulator when the pressure is high.

Careful. Been to TWO seperate parks where pressure was normal UNTIL about midnight when it supposedly hit 100 psi. All those who thought regulators were for others had water pouring out of walls. Lots of broken plumbing.

It is your rig, but IMHO to test pressuere and ASSume it will stay at the same pressure forever is a fools bet.

I ALWAYS use a regulator. Incidentally at one of those parks my regulator slammed closed so hard I had to buy a new one, but I had no plumbing damage. I gave it a decent burial.

Water pressure

Good point Chuck, I tend to be conservative about these things so I don't planon doing it on a regular basis. I suppose a relief valve set at 65 PSI could work.

I don't want to spend a fortune on a regulator survey as they are not cheap. I already found that the Camcos are bombs and the smaller adjustable Watts has flow issues but I guess I'll stick with that until I hear about something superior.

What do you use?

John

the factory installed pump in my outback is set at 55psi, so that's what I set my external Watts regulator at.

Regulator

I recently purchased a Valterra, have not used it yet, waiting for spring to give it a shot. It's preset at 45, however fully adjustable.

I bought A Watts home plumbing regulator with 3/4 inlets and put garden hose inlet and outlets on it. It is set to 50 psi.Only cost about $40 and works better than the Camco Reducer. Much better flow
