Battery Compartment

Finally got around to fixing/Redesigning my battery compartment on the 2012 Fuzion 405. This had to be one of the worst thought out designs from Keystone for a battery compartment. The tray they welded in would only fit one 12V battery and too short to slide in another one. The opening is too short to fit in 6V battery's and the bottom opening is to small to get any kind of 2nd battery in.

So I grind out the battery tray they had welded in, not a fun job, and chuck it in the trash. I start piecing out an extruded aluminum (80/20) frame with a 1/4 thick aluminum base. Screwed the outside piece into the aluminum trailer frame for support since there was nothing to set anything on except the thin sheeting bent up under the trailer. Worked my way back to the steel frame keeping everything level with spacers machined to fit.

Put in 2 new 6V Interstate GC2 ECL UTL golf cart batteries topped off with a Pro-Fill RV Edition Dual 6-Volt Battery Watering System. Turned out pretty slick. Plenty room to service the battery's and much nicer looking.

It does make topping off the cells a breeze.

Very nice. We have installed the Pro-Fill on a few rigs and I must say it's a well designed system.

Thanks for posting this, I ordered the Watering System, on Amazon, yesterday and it came today... was a breeze to install.

I will be able to fill the batteries, without even taking the cover off of the box now. I love it.
