New TV

Just traded a 2014 Silverado v6 WT with tow package to a 2013 Silverado LT, Z71 4wheel drive, v8 5.3 L, 3.42 axle Extended cab. I figured the 2014 was pushing the limits towing my Passport 2400bh. Dry weight is 4800 on the TT. Have not weighed the TT loaded but I suspect it will load out to about 6000 lbs.

As the 2013 Silverado is used, I have tried to look up the towing capacity and I believe its 9600 lbs. The dealership I bought it from is a Ford dealer but not very knowledgeable of Chevy's. Does anyone else tows with one of these and am I correct?

I don't tow with one but looking at the 2013 Chevy specs 9600 looks right and it sounds about right for your configuration. And I agree that the trailer was probably a bit much for the 2014.

I pulled the TT home from the dealership a few months ago with the 2014 v6 and it pulled Ok but seemed to strain a bit on the larger hills (downshifted and running about 4500 rpms to maintain 55 mph). That was not loaded with anything other that full propane tanks and battery. The new truck should give a lot of breathing room. I did see other versions of the truck I bought with a much lighter payload and towing capacity. Just confirming I got the correct truck. Thanks

I have a 2014 with the same set up. You should be good to go.
