Backing plate brake assembly
Hi guys
So I order a new brake assembly for my Bullet Premiere 34 foot. I did this as they said it would be easy. Well they don’t fit. They are not the same measurements top and bottom on the mount. One is 2 7/8 and the other is 3 1/4. It would b3 nice to replace the whole thing but I can’t seem to find the correct one. Anybody know where I can find them
Jeff

Easiest way is to measure the drum, then the width of a shoe.

1. you got to know what axle you got..
2. you got to know what diameter & width of brakes you got..
After that it's easy...

Well duh. Yea. I need to find the backing plate that fits the 10 inch brake. That’s not the problem. Getting it to bolt to the axle is the problem. That’s why I attached the photos

Duh? Folks are trying to help you running blind and it's a "well duh" moment to you while they try to help? You may find it hard to get anyone else to assist with that kind of attitude....JMO.

Good Luck. I haven't seen that before where the bolt pattern wasn't square?
Is it and older trailer? If it's and older design you may have a hard time finding matching backing plates. Once you find them since they're rare the price will be high.
You may want to just clean up the backing plates and replace the shoes, magnets and hardware. It may be your best bet.

Well I may have found the answer. They are 4.4k axles and there is a diagram for them. It only took 4 hours of research
They are on a 2014 Keystone Bullet Premier 34BHPR. I had it all apart and ready to install when this all occurred. Frustrating but pretty normal in my world.
As for being smart here. Not my intention as I asked for the dimentions of the mounting not the the brakes. That’s why the pics were attached

Glad you found out what axle you have... it's the details that matter...
