I have one and have used it but have not noticed any big change. Perhaps it would help a lot if you have kids traveling with you or a boisterous party life. We have neither.
Mine is for sale.

Used one for many years. They help some. Mine was made out of steel. If I purchased one again I would purchase an aluminum one.

I installed the JT StrongArms on our last RV and quit using one. Our new one has the 6 point leveling system and won't be using one

I have a steel tripod stabilizer. It works good IMO and since it uses a chain through the legs, it's easy to set up/take down.

This is the one we use.. . Seems to make the camper a little more stable, especially when there are a few people inside.

I have a six pt level. The front cabin shakes a bit but i didnt want to invest over $100 for something that wouldnt make a big impact and i could run into after a couple bud lights

I have the aluminum one and it does seem to help a little with the side-to-side motion. It's simple to set up and stores easily in my truck bed when traveling or not in use.

So are they worth it if you have the 6 point stabilizers?

Good question. I'm looking forward to the opinions of others.
Our 2017 Raptor has the six point hydraulic stabilizers, but the whole thing shakes every time someone sneezes.

I had one with my previous 5er, I felt it worked well. I now have a 6 point system and I gave the stabilizer to my dad. IMO, it didn't make a difference or enough of a difference to make it worth the hassle.

I have the 6 point hydraulic leveling and previously used one of the king pin stabilizers on my previous trailer that did not have the auto leveling. I would definitely not think it wise to use any fixed stabilizing device on a system which could fail(i.e. hydraulics) causing the rig to settle. The stabilizer I used to use was the two leg steel BAL model. It said it should never be used to support the weight of the pin. This was never a concern to me when leveling with boards and crank down jacks as supports but depending on how it was leveled, the front could drop and place the entire pin weight on the stabilizer in the event of a failure in the hydraulics.

That said, I've not experienced any failures so others might comment about their concerns with that likelihood.

I considered one then talked to a few folks that used them. For the most part, they said it was just one more gadget that seemed to be a good idea but the return on the dollars spent and hassle when traveling just wasn't worth the effort. As long as you have rubber tires and springs that flex there will be some movement. A 6 point leveling system make more sense if you are buying a new trailer. Ours doesn't have the 6 point system but I had an extra new set of stabilizing scissors jacks and use them between the tires and the 5er's drop section of front frame. Some sort of cross arm stabilizers as well as to the rear stabilizers seem to work better - and there are good brands other then Lippert's JT

I built this from 3/4 pipe small chain and trailer jack it will lift some serious weight that being said it reduces the wobble to almost nothing. I feel it's safe to park the Harley .

When I get home I'll modify the the top to make it hang and lock like the video for easy centering.

It wasn't mentioned, but if your rig has the MorRyde pin box, with the rubber suspension that allows the pin to move, a tripod will be useless because the trailer will still move with the pin box floating against the rubber part.

I used my stabilizer with my LCI Trailair pin box last time out and it seemed to work just fine. The ones with a rubber bladder I can understand would not be stable.

You want a solid 5er no bounce or wiggle, get a set of J.T. Strongarms!

We have 4 point leveling system, and use scissor jacks between the tires and a HD steel stabilizer tripod under the king pin. Life is good. The stabilizer works well. IMO there are some on the market that do not work well.

Being a mechanical person I wanted to put some support under the front of the unit, this year I will put some support under the rear of the unit considering there is more than 12 ft. of unsupported load behind the rear jacks. We sleep in the front and live in the back.
