New Kitchen Sink

We have been thinking of this replacement for a while, but could not find the correctly sized twin bowl SS sink, to replace the current plastic one. Then a member of Woodalls forum posted the perfect sink. He got it from Lowe's

Moen 2000 Series 18.75-in x 25.5-in Stainless Steel Double-Basin Drop-in 1-Hole Residential Kitchen Sink Item # 544629 Model # G202721.

This is a comparison of the old and new.

Really nice !!! We also were thinking of switching out ours. Think you said old was plastic although I your picture looks like tarnished metal. Was it plastic??

A couple years ago we had a thread about tearing out an old sink think it was the hard surface counter top. All I remember was it seemed like one hel..of a job tearing it out. Enough that I said not for me.

Looks like your pictures show you got it out in one piece, what type counter surface?? Any problems getting old one out??

If I recall mine is under the hard surface counter top. Was your old sink under your counter top??

Again big improvement, nice Job!!

Excellent work! My Bullet's plastic sink leaves much to be desired. If we keep our trailer longer than 2 more years, the kitchen sink will be replaced.

Yes, really plastic, and came out too easy!! the design had only six hold down locations. They were small bolts held to the bottom of the sink rim with adhesive, one had broken off likely during original install, once the five remaining wing nuts were removed the sink simply lifted off, very little sealant sealing to surface.

Counter top is Formica over particle board, I cut chip free using a vibrating blade cutter to cut through the Formica, then a saber saw to cut the particle board.

Very Nice!!!!

Can you please confirm the bowl depths?

I have found literature that states both bowls are 7" in depth and others that state left (large bowl) in 7" deep but right (smaller bowl) is 5" deep.

Thanks,
Lee

Darn, I got all excited but then remember mine is a bottom mount sink and I'd prefer to keep it that way. It was supposed to come with a 60/40 sink but didn't and I would really prefer one since nothing normal size fits in the 50/50 sink.

Nice job though.

This really interests me, but if I recall the current sink is sandwiched between a Corian type hard surface and the wood base. It is a 60/40 sink which also has the matching hard top sink covers. I would go out there and look again BUT Was 70 degrees yesterday and today about noon it is currently 29. Too cold for this old guy Thought I would have pull up entire hard surface to get sink out??

Big bowl measures 6-3/4" deep top top of drain, small bowl is 5" to top of drain.

Looks great, I like the new sink. I'm doing the samething next month as the plastic sinks just don't stand up for too long.
