4 - 6 Volts & Inverter/Charger Install (Hideout 177lhs)

I got them to put 2 6 volt batteries in it from the dealer, but I wanted to add 2 more and an inverter. I bought 2 more Interstate 6 volts and a Xantrex HF1800 Inverter/Charger. I also removed the stock converter and the crappy DC fuse panel. I replaced it with a Blue Sea fuse panel. I mounted the batteries in an atv box I found in scratch dent on Amazon. I found a thick rubber mat at Tractor Supply and cut that into pieces to line the box and space the batteries. I used weatherproof DC Circuit Breakers for the DC going to the inverter as well as the DC going to the fuse panel. (200amp and 100 amp) For AC wiring I used 10/3 cord to run from the back of the trailer to the front basement and back. Probably 40' total. I ran 4 gauge for the DC panel and 0 gauge for the inverter.

Here are some pics

Looks nice, did you end up mounting 2 or 4 batteries up in the box?

4 batteries. I will put up some pics of them all wired as soon as I'm done. I ran out of the ring terminals so waiting for a few more to finish the wiring.

Meh, just adds a tad of tongue weight....

Nice work. I'm sure you will enjoy the power. Just not the replacement costs in a few years!

Definitely adds tongue weigh. Honestly couldn't find a better place for them. Not really worried about the replacement costs. These are the nicest Interstate 6 volts so they should last quite a while.

Yup. I agree. I'm an Interstate Battery fanboy.

Great job !

Can you list either a part number for that box, or dimensions? Looks like a great size.

It is this box. I got it for much cheaper because it was a scratch and dent.
