Summit TV scan results?

For those with a newer Summit TV and KeyTV.

When performing a Scan at a new location, it shows

Numbers are just example...

RF. 38
ANALOG. 2
DIGITAL. 18

Does anyone know what the number on the RF line represent.

I think it may be Radio Frequency or Radio Station, since it's a combo antenna, which does TV, AM/FM and even LTE when using a data transmission.

It is not very documented and my dealer had no clue...

Thank you

I've wondered also. All of our late model televisions are the same.

If I remember the way the FCC explained it during the conversion from analog to digital (back when we had tube TV's and had to buy converter boxes), it goes something like this:

Each analog TV station was allotted a series of RF channels. Think TV6 converted to digital channel 6. But the station was allotted frequencies for other programming as well. Think 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, etc. Each of those is independent, some are used, some are not used.

So, most digital TV's, when scanned, only show "active analog and digital" channels scanned. It starts with VHF 2-13, then goes to "UHF 14-51. Most TV's just show the "active stations scanned, in other words, if there is nothing on a "set of frequencies" the scanner skips reporting those channels. Apparently your brand also shows the channels scanned, in other words, 2.1 through 2.9, 3.1 through 3.9, and up the list all the way to 51.9 and reports each frequency allocation as "RF xx" along with analog and digital scans.
