Front and Back AC

Hello to Everyone,

Long time reader possible first time to post. I have a Sandpiper FLOK and have noticed that the ACs are working over time in the extreme heat. I know that they will only be about 15 degrees or so cooler than outside temps in extreme heat but this unit will not get there. I have noticed that the larger unit is in the rear (bedroom) and the bedroom stays cool. The front living has the smaller unit and works very hard to try to get there. My question does the manufacture mount all AC on FWs thinking the living room is normally in the back. I feel that if I was to switch the two I would get better AC performance? Thoughts?

Thanks,
Ronnie

Hard to say why they do what they do at the factory. If the bedroom is 15K and the family room is 13.5K then you could swap them out. Are they both the same dimensions or is the front one low profile?

chukster57, the front one is definitely smaller. My next step is to swap them around and see if there will be any improvement. It only makes sense to me that there would. I was just wandering if the is standard procedure or maybe it was designed this way. IMHO that is a lot of area to cool for a 13.5k.

A lot to be said about Utah I’m here right now enjoying a very conservative Republican city. The motorcycle riding it is really nice the food is a good little rundown Rv Park Full hook ups for $20 good restaurant don’t get any better than that

Ronc If you swap the AC units is the one in the rear taller than the one in the front Not sure if you would have height issues. Just a thought

I have 2019 FLOK also. Mine are both 15k. We leave the one in the back ducted and use the dump feature on the one in the front so the discharge air isn’t heated in the roof. When it is 90-95 we usually hold about 72-75 inside
