Wet floor on slide

Where is the best place to start looking for water leak on side of slide under window? 2010 cougar x-lite bhs? I can’t see any entry points due to calking letting loose? Cannot see where water has ran down wall.

We had several windows leak, not from the window itself but from where the window flange contacts the outside wall and they use putty tape between the flange and the wall. We had the slightest gap and water ran down instead the wall and migrated underneath to the carpet in the slide. I ended up caulking all the windows outside with silicone caulk and haven’t had a leak since.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I put silicone on today. I will keep an eye next time it rains. New to the world of owning a camper. Much appreciated.

Interesting. I've been fighting water issues in my 2018 Passport for a while now. Just rebuilt the top bunk at the beginning of this season... it fell off the wall due to water damage. This last weekend, we had water everywhere after a downpour, and it appears to be coming in from all the windows as you said, none of which appear to have caulk around them.

So, did you just use normal silicon caulk from the hardware store, or is there a certain kind that is needed?

It's more work, but remove the window & inspect the gasket, some have a foam type, or butyl tape. I think the factory techs get tired & start slacking when installing windows & doors. Replace the foam with butyl tape or remove the old tape & add a double layer if necessary then reinstall the window.
In my opinion nothing looks worse than silicone smeared around all the seams, windows & doors on a RV that will never come off.
