She was right very right & I may never hear the end!

Well in everyone's life a miscalculation, or a bad guess, goes as far wrong as possible.

We were at our spot in Tn a few weeks ago and it was below freezing each night, like in the 20s.

She asked on Saturday morning: Are you going to check the gas tanks?

My answer: Nah, just filled them up during the late summer, could not have used that much.

Yep, you guessed it: At 3:30 AM (Sunday AM) I wake to no heat, gas tanks empty, doom and despair settle on me like fog in the mountains.

So a couple of blankets, later forked out an IHOP breakfast and a 30 mile trip to a U Haul place in Knoxville for tank refills.

I did not even try to make an excuse, rationalize, , , , , , Someday, maybe, I may live this down, no I doubt it.

Thanks for reminding me. We leave in two weeks and I know I have one empty tank. Have to add it to my round-2-it list, Hank

I almost ran out last time we were out. I one upped DW. I filled our fuel tank for the GenSet and she had said, "we will have power there, why fill it?"
At 0230 we had temps of 28 degrees an a power failure. I fired up the GenSet and smiled.

We always keep 2 ceramic heaters in the RV at all times (this was even before we had the current one with the electric fireplace).

Gives us options for heating -> propane furnace vs electric.... And is a backup should I forget to fill the tanks

That happened to us one early spring at the Yellowstone KOA sorta kinda. My hubby was switching the tanks out in the middle of the night in his shorts when he was snagged by the security guard. I guess he thought my hubby was trying to steal a tank in the middle of the night in his boxers lol. He was finally able to get the guy to leave him alone so he could come back in from the cold, snowy night.
