mountaineer vs avalanche

Hello All,

I was at my local dealer yesterday to look at a 346lbq and was informed by the sales"kid" that they were dropping the montana and mountaineers for the alpine and avalanche lines. It seems alot of dealers are switching, does anyone no why?

Thanks,

Todd

Welcome Todd!
I can't imagine why Keystone would drop those 2 lines -- Montana has been their best (full-sized) seller for
MANY years [as per advertising] -- not saying it *won't* happen, just that it would be a really big move IMHO.
The Avalanche & Alpine lines replaced the Challenger & Everest lines in 2010... but..... who knows!

Buying a Mountaineer (even if discontinued later) wouldn't be an issue... it would have the same warranty; plus,
the majority of parts & components aren't specific to that brand. Happy shopping!

I don't think Keystone is dropping them, just my dealer. At one time they were the only dealer around that sold montana's, but now alot of them do. I figured they were switching so they didn't have to compete with the other dealers on pricing.

Oooops! Sorry Todd, apparently I misunderstood your post.

The sales 'kid' may have been trying to sway your decision, but he also gave you a tidbit that could be useful.
If that dealer isn't going to carry the Mountaineer anymore, then maybe you could get a bit bigger discount!!
And don't forget... the 2014 models should start rolling out in the next month or so.

I'm not sure where you were looking, but the 2014 Mountaineer is listed on the Keystone website. There are 10 models, only one, the 285RLD is listed "stock only" which indicates that model is not being produced at this time. All the others (a total of 9 models) are in active production and available for retail sale.
