We did the "leave Friday after work, return Sunday" "local" trips (under 3 hrs travel) for many years. Seemed like you no sooner set up camp and you were breaking it down again. Also used some individual vacation days to stretch out week ends but with a new job I doubt you'll have that option.
Use your time wisely. Take stuff to camper days ahead, not day of departure. If you don't have it at home to cool/load the fridge ahead of time than pack an ice chest and have it ready to "grab and go".
I don't miss camping under those circumstances but I did enjoy the money! Oh well, I wish I was born rich and not good looking. Shut, I guess I missed the good looking line too.
