I need some assistance with using the water heater. Anyone got a video showing how to get gas and electric working.
So far you tube has not helped.
Thanks in advance.

Year, make, model, What have you tried so far?
Has it been de-winterized?

We just got it and it was set up real quick. The dealer had to close for a month because of the Covid-19 virus. Any video showing steps would be great.
They gave us a quick intro to everything but it was real quick.
I have many more questions.

There are quite a few items to check. Can you explain how you noticed it wasn't working?
was it working yesterday? Is this the first time you tried to fire it up? During the quick walk through did the tech turn on the outdoor shower? Is the heater in bypass mode?
Depending on the model is the on/of switch in the on position?
Some type of background as to how you found any issue, with any problem you run into, generally (not always) gets a quicker more concise answer.
I am a newbie as well, but I am pretty good at problem solving.
Your answer may very well be posted here already, try googling the issue with year make model and if worded semi-correctly you may find a link that leads you back to this site. If not, It's late/early in the day and someone (with far more experience than I) will be around to help today.

I'm sure there's viseos if you search. But let's try this.
First, you must have water in the water heater. Either turn on the water pump (with water in the fresh water tank), or connect to city water (garden hose).
Open up the cabinet with the water heater inside and check the cold water by pass valve. If it's been winterized then the valve needs to be turned (typically 90 deg.) to allow water in the tank. Go outside and open the access door to the water heater and operate the pressure relief valve to see if water is in the tank.
Before proceeding, let me know if I'm talking Greek or if you follow.

You need to note what kind of water heater it is. I figure it's probably an Atwood in that unit but it may be a Suburban. If so there is also a switch on the outside of the Suburban to turn on the electric...operates backwards.

Greetings and welcome aboard!
If you go to Youtube.com, and type in the manufacturer (Atwood or Suburban) water heater in the search bar, you will see more videos than you can shake a stick at on the operation and maintenance of them.
Hope this helps, and have fun with your RV!

Simple YouTube search, this video is about as basic as one can get and covers all types of water heaters.
Only thing not mentioned here, is to make sure water is in the tank to begin with.
If you attempted to turn on the electric with no water in it, it will burn out the heating (electric) element within a couple seconds.
