A couple of things. When we had the Forest River Vengeance we took out the combo dinette/sleeper and replaced it with a residential electric theater seating. It fit left to right and sat entirely on the slide out floor. Worked out great.
Now we have the Laredo 325RL and want to replace either the sleeper sofa or the uncomfortable (to us) recliner seating. We knew this going into the purchase of the unit, so no surprise. Issue with replacing the sleeper sofa is the depth of the space that will allow the operation of the slides.
From what I can see the existing modular 3 piece seating has what appear to be rollers on the front of the base. The depth of the slide floor is not deep enough to support the seating so they installed the front rollers to support the front of the seating whale allowing it to roll on the floor when going in and out.
Yesterday when dropping the unit off at the dealer we sat in a Thomas Payne dual recliner with center console. Comfortable and somewhat expensive. When we get the unit back we will do the necessary measurements and see if we can make the unit work. I really expect to find the existing (low end) seating was made by LCI as is the Thomas Payne.
There are many things to consider when replacing RV Furniture, do your homework.
