Height of trailer?

I have a 2015 Laredo 299BH. She's in for warranty work so I've decided to install a carport to keep her outta this hot Florida sun. My owner's manual says the trailer is 11'1" tall. I'm assuming that's from the ground to the top of the A/C unit? please correct me if I'm wrong as I'd hate to put up a carport that's too short. Thanks.

Not sure on the height of your camper, manual usually does state from ground to the top of the AC.

If I was putting up a car port, and it was a solid structure, I would make it 13.6. That is the max height on RVs on the market today.

What x96mnn said! Why not settle for a 14 foot height just to prepare for the future. Remember, most people don't downsize their trailers, they upsize. So it's a few bucks more. That way you have planned for the future!

When we built our pole barn I wanted to build it 13' tall. The contractor urged me to go 14'. His reasoning was that pole barn items (poles, sheet metal, etc) are all sized and pre-cut for "standard size buildings". That means 8', 10', 12', 14'. 16', etc. He told me that if I wanted a building 13' tall, that they would either have to buy 14' stock and cut it down (waste) or special order the materials (added expense and time).

If you're going to have a contractor build your carport, discuss the options with him. You may, as I did, find it's cheaper to "build bigger" rather than pay the special order fees to "build smaller"......

bigger is always better!
The other factor that you may or may not have considered is total height after leveling your RV. I think the "clearance" for my trailer is 13'6" according to manufacturer's literature. With the six point leveling system, I know I have exceeded that height more than once. Don't forget to plan for your slides being extended on your width.

I have an RV buddy that built a pole barn with a large door sized for the TT that he had at the time with a 12' door. When he bought his next unit, he was dismayed to find how much taller it was. He ended up cutting what I can only describe as a huge cupboard door above the regular garage door to accommodate the new rig.

Go for 14' in the carport. You will not regret it. And as pointed out, room for all the slides to be out at one time.

If it's one of those "Carolina Carports" be sure where the height is measured. It may be next to the side wall, which would make it a good bit higher in the middle. You may be able to go with what they call 12ft tall. It could be 12ft next to the sidewall, and 13ft 6in in the middle. Measure your RV very carefully and get the carport salesman to explain exactly where the dimensions are.
Don't overlook the sidewall to roof braces.
