Vent knob extension

Thought I'd share my latest modification that was as a request from the better half.

To open/close the vent, my wife had to stand on the step stool which at our age may result in a broken arm, leg or hip.

My solution was to unscrew the knob, install a 7" threaded 8/32" rod extension, and use washers, lock washers to secure the threaded rod and knob.

When we get home, I'll paint everything white or replace the black knob with something white.

Wife is happy which makes me happy ..... Don

Couldn't rotate image - sorry.

Looks good. Did you pick up the extension at a home improvement store?

All the hardware was picked up at the local hardware store.

We have covers over all the vents so we don't have to tighten the vent down tight to avoid the rain or moisture. If you don't have covers over the vents you could always use some locktight on the extension rod.

Gary - Thank you your response. I never knew these vent stocks existed. I wonder why you don't see these at RV Dealers or Camping World? I ordered my vent sticks today.

Thanks again .... Don

We use an extendable metal weenie roasting fork ($5). Drilled holes in the nob 180* apart and then shortened the prongs on the fork so they won't bend when snugging down the lid. One tool - two uses
