120v ac ..... red or black = live .... white = neutral .... green or bare = earth ground.

dc ... for some reason the rv industry has gone against other users and has white as negative and black or red as positive. Individual circuits can use any combination of colors along with tracers of different colors. Testing is the only sure way to tell.

thank you the reason I asked is the UK outside plugs are to big to fit in to change from the US ones so we have a US lead with UK other end but the plug is converted to UK electric BUT in cleaning out my Amerilite I have lost the lead I managed to get lead from ebay and as we are off to Holland in a couple of weeks and as my new van sets sail across the pond tomorrow it will not be here in time so have to repack Amerilite for a couple of weeks then unpack to change over again but hopefully it will be waiting for us when we get home with all the convertions done

justlizz, Howdy;

What is the Mains voltage that you are dealing with in UK/Low Country?
Thinking along the lines of 210 220 ??? Also it is most likely 50 cycle as
opposed to the 60 cycle we deal with here in The States. May be some other
issues you may have to deal with as well. Just throwing this out there so you
can ponder it while you enjoy the Low Country..

Perhaps a call to a local electrician may be the best
route to take for a Happy Hook-up.
