planning

greetings to all - we recently planned a trip from orange county,ca to seattle, will be gone a month 1/2. is it always necessary to book sites so far ahead of time? we're good sammers and KOAers, but are there better clubs? state and county parks are always booked.
good parks:
socal: san dimas east shore rv
las vegas: oasis rv
no. arizona: circle pines koa

if it were me I would want to know where i was staying each night, so planing ahead makes sense.. If you have reservations for all of your parks, then get someplace you really like and want to stay, you can always call and cancel in advance without penalties in most places..

Travelling and camping along the west coast during the summer pretty much requires reservations. The coastal state parks in Oregon are very popular and booking well in advance is a must. Parks along the southern Washington coast are also popular spots in the summer.

If you have access to a directory of RV campgrounds and resorts, such as Woodalls, or something similar and have your route roughed out, going through these resources will give you an idea of what is available other than Good Sam and KOA campgrounds.

Another good source of parks with reviews can be found online here: www.campgroundreviews.com

We always plan ahead where a weekend or a longer trip. I love towing but do not want to turn around and tow home because the place was booked. We do not head to places that don't take reservations. In Feb/March we booked all of our trips for the summer, one trip has been booked since last year. If you don't book before you leave you will not get a spot.

So far we love the f150. Going to get new tires soon and will probably upgrade them to an E sidewall but other than that it has been great.
