Stink bug infestation
We took our trailer out this weekend for one last trip before winterizing it. While setting up camp I discovered our trailer was infested with hundreds of stink bugs. They were mostly on the outside around the slide out and in the awning tracks. Probably 200-300 had crawled between the edge of the slide out and the trailer. There were about 50-100 in the awning track, behind the cover for the power cord for the awning.
The DW was obviously not too happy. Inside we probably captured another 100 over the weekend. They continually crawled out of nooks and crannies.
Anyone have a similar issue or advice?
The trailer was stored in a lot in Maryland. I imagine the other RVs and trailers there will have the same issue.

Stink bugs! Another gift from china! I can't say that I've had them in my trailer, but I have worked on many home remodel projects over the last couple of years that when I removed the siding from the house thousand of the things were behind it. Even in places that would seem to small for them to get into. On one project the whole house was swarmed with them, INSIDE and OUT The family was sucking them up with the vac. An exterminator finialy came out and sprayed, I don't know how that worked out, I haven't been back since.

What do you mean when you say "stink bug"?
Are you referring to a rather large (3/4 to 1 in) black beetle looking bug that runs around with its butt in the air?
Out here in central Cal, we call these things stink bugs because they spray like a skunk for self defense.
Just curious - not sure if we are referring to the same type of critter

I think they came over in ST tires as a bonus to poor quality tires.
You have to vacuum them up ... if you crush them you see why they got their name.

Out in CA we have black beetle that raise's their butt when threatened and emit a foul smell. Growing up we call them stink bugs since they smell but they are harmless beetles. I was picturing thousands of these one inch beetles all over your trailer thinking my wife would freak out even worse then when she sees a rat.

lol, I was thinking of the black stink bugs too and said, how in the heck did they do it. Seeing the picture of that stink bug, I understand a bit more. I would so put a bomb in there and wait and then a big, big cleaning day.

We have the same problem in RI. My house and camper where/are covered with them. We went camping this past weekend and the little buggers where getting into the camper. 1 fell on DW head while sleeping and a hand full in the shower curtain, thought the 6 yr was going to die screaming. I'm guessing because we didn't have a real cold winter???

At home we normally pick them up in a tissue and flush them down the toilet, trying not to squeeze them to hard. In the camper we would just let them go outside, don't want to flush them down the black tank. Don't want them to come back out of the black tank LOL!!!

They have a weird defense mechanism which is to just drop and fall when threatened. I keep a jar with a lid in the house so when I see a climber I just raise the jar up under them and they fall right in! When they jar gets crowded I flush the bunch down. No sense wasting water on singles!
