New Member Intro
We are considering the purchase of a 2017 199ML Travel Trailer. Our tow vehicle is a Honda Ridgeline that we have been using to pull a 1995, Sunline Solaris T-1740. I rebuilt and repaired many things on the Sunline due to a previous owner's freeze-up and resultant damage to flooring and framing.
It now has all appliances fully functioning, hot water, refer, heat and the wet bath with little room to shower.
We are ready to move up and the 199ML seems to have every detail we might hope for in a lightweight unit, including: dual axles, center island queen bed (when it's not hidden as a murphy bed), 'dry' bath with shower and lots of room for the two of us.
I'm hoping someone will provide words of encouragement or criticism, if necessary, regarding the 199ML trailers.

Welcome to the forum from Radium Hot Springs BC.
Nice TT. I would check your payload and tow rating. This TT has a GVWR over
5000#. May be OK as I don't know details of your Ridgeline. Good luck and happy camping.

Tow Rating
Thank you for your information and weight concerns. The Ridgeline is rated for 5000 LBs and 1000LB tongue weight. Has 245 HP and 245 LB/FT torque. My Sunline is considerably lighter but never even slows me down. I do use an equalizing hitch with friction anti-sway setup.

Just as an fyi; the trailer will weigh about 5200 - above your max payload. Tongue weight will be in the range of 650lbs. What is the payload of your Ridgeline (inside the door)? I doubt it is much over 1000lbs if any (my friend has one). In addition to the tongue weight you have to factor in people, cargo, hitch etc. A Ridgeline IMO should tow a little teardrop or Casita trailer. It is not a "pickup" in the normal sense (1/2 ton). It's a Honda SUV (Passport) with an open back. I've got an new 2017 Explorer with more HP and torque and would not pull a travel trailer with it. JMO

Welcome to the forum from Kansas City, MO! Enjoy your shopping. Be sure to look at the numbers on your truck stickers on your door post and not the general info in the Honda brochures. There can be a huge difference. I've been there and done that. So have lots of others on this site. Good luck.
