no ladder

our keystone sprinter 300 KBS has no ladder in the rear to get to the roof, the dealer said most TT's have no ladder. during the delivery walk-thru, the tech got a ladder so I could get to the roof and inspect it.

are their ladder's for TT's for sale by vendors? though I don't know if it would be safe to place in the back of the TT. I would like to go on the roof to install a couple of max air covers.

wow nice, thanks for reply, oh does it matter where you lean the ladder when climbing up? would hate to fall through the side wall of our TT while going up

I use a aluminum ladder I took a old swim noodle cut it and taped it where it would lean on my trailer. Just little added protection against rubbing

I bought an extension ladder at Home Depot and just stow it in the front storage compartment of the TT, comes in handy when I use the leaf blower to clear the debris from the slide before retracting…

I just put a regular ladder against the side of camper to get up there and check the roof and install my maxxair covers too. watch you don't lean it on a decal. I rubbed a little of one of mine off. i wouldn't brace it against rear or front as those sides have some flex. and careful on the roof. My dealer says it would hold me, but there is give. I mostly stay on all fours to disperse my weight better.

We bought a universal ladder when we had our 300 BH Outback and never put it on,now we have a Cougar 31 RKS and have that same ladder going to have the dealer put it on,cost was about 90 dollars.

I keep that collapsible ladder in my front storage. Nice to be able to climb up and clean off the slide before closing up in a campground.

We have a Keystone Hideout and in the standards for it in their online brochure, it says that one of the features included is: Ladder backers. So, no ladder but ladder backers. I assumed that this meant a special section of the roof edge that would be safe to lean a ladder against. We did a look around for that spot and it seems to be at the back of the trailer (where normally they install the ladders). It's not really obvious and we haven't tried leaning one up against it yet, but you might inquire if this is a feature that your trailer is equipped with and look for that spot.

Ladder backers are a place to mount a permanent ladder on the rear of the trailer. They are basically areas of the frame that are reinforced with plywood so that there is sufficient grip for the mounting screws plus the load bearing capacity.

TT's are framed with either 2x2 wood studs or alumninum. It is safe to lean a ladder on the top edge of the TT walls, but be sure to use some padding to prevent damage.

I have these on the end of my ladder. They make it safe to lean the ladder against the wall of the TT without damaging the finish or the decals. They are readily available at home improvement stores everywhere.

My dealer told me that they cannot install a ladder on a TT due to the lack of backing plates to attach to. I just purchased a 12.5' telescoping extension ladder to access the roof. These ladders collapse to 34" and are easy to store. You can expect to pay about $100 to $150 on Amazon, e-bay, etc. Hope this helps.

yes thanks for info. will need to check on that ... seems short enough when it telescopes down to store in TT and I was able to get on my roof with my friends 10 foot ladder so the 12.5 would be plenty tall enough.
