Has anyone out there installed after market air horns on their tow vehicles? Would like some feed back if so on Mo# and Mfg.

There have been many times when I have wished for a train horn... especially in the Cobra

I use the air horns sometimes daily in police vehicles, cars, boats and pickups. They are electric and loud. Unknown what the cost maybe. If it where me that is what I would install, than no need for a compressor. If you like your hearing mount it near the front bumper/grill area. If it is on the roof is as painful for you as the person you use it on. Trust me the horns and sirens where up there for several years during my career. After one use you found out why the old troops rarely used them.

I have a set of train horns from hornblasters.com

Mine is the conductors special and I paid extra for the 5 gallon tank. They are LOUD!! And in most states actually not legal due to the 153db. I installed a separate switch so I can't blow them by accident. I have used them to let the idiot know he/she is risking their life by cutting me off to make an off ramp.

And I will admit to having some "fun" on occasion. I can get 11 seconds of full volume with a full tank. I bought them in 2008 as a retirement gift to myself and have no regrets.

I have a set of Hadley air horns. It came with the air horns, compressor and tank. I tied my airbags into the air horn system so it runs both. Those horns have come in handy a few times.

We have a set of Kline 102's powered by the AC for our PacBrake. Mounting choices were limited on our Ram about 2" between grill and radiator! mounted below Passenger side floorboard. Way better than stock Ram horn. Hung a piece of door mat about 6" in front of them to protect from road spray.
