Bal hide a spare, can it be use for for something else

The Bal hide a spare is pretty cool, but I'm wondering if it large enough to hold a blue boy instead of a tire? I was thinking I would move my tire underneath and make a mount for my blue boy on the bumper, then I thought, why not keep the tire on the bumper and use the Bal hide a spare to ungrateful the blue boy underneath?

Do you think that would work?

If you or a friend is handy with a welder I am sure it could be adapted. Probably the most important measurement would be the thickness of the tire vs the blue boy. Good luck

I'm assuming your referring to a portable waste tank. If correct and if it is 11 inches or less in height, yes it will fit along with the tire on this mount. My brother is making some brackets for his to install his tank. Mine has 36 inches from end bracket to tire, so if your tank is no larger than 11 inches high by 36 inches in length, you should be good to go.

Yes, portable waste tank. I have the Barker 4-wheeler Tote Tank - 32 Gallon Capacity. It's 45 x 24 x 11.5 inches.

So If I don't put a tire on the mount, and just put in my barker portable waste tank on it, I might be good? I know you said 11 inches, I'm hoping 11.5 might work.

You might make it since the mount does give a little, so position it in the center.

You could also mount the tank front to back since there is hardly any weight involved and you'll have it attached good at the carrier anyway. Just a thought..

Thanks for posting this question, as it got me to install my portable waste tank while I was thinking about. Here are a couple of photos showing what I did with mine.

Looks good. What are the brackets made from and how are they attached to the BAL?

I used 3/4"x 36"x 1/8" aluminum flat bar and bent each end to create a cradle for the tank. Each bracket is attached to the BAL by means of two rubber coated P-clamps bolted tight. The bungi cord is preventing any movement since there was some within the cradle.

I just put two bungee cords on my to keep it from moving. Installed with the fill port down so the tank would have raise up and then slide back to come out. The camper is still in storage so i will try and get pictures this weekend

Good job Steve!!

On my brackets I used some glue on rubber strips I had left over from some project
To separate the tank from metal contact with the brackets

Not sure how important that was
But
Just a thought

Enjoy that new camper!!!
