Ugh.... my grey water tank dropped

Afternoon,
We purchased a used 202qbwe and took it out for the first time this weekend. Before we were about to leave, I had noticed that there seemed to be water leaking from somewhere near the grey water tank. We then went straight to the campground dump station and I saw that the grey water pipe had seperated and the tank was hanging down on a 45 degree angle. From what I can tell it looks like one side had slipped out from under the mounting cross rail. Are the tanks really held in by sitting on 2 rails? I used tie down straps to keep it from falling all the way out until I can fix it.
Now that I'm home, I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to remount the tank. I'm assuming that the sink and bathtub pipes are probably broken and will also need to be replaced? Are there any how to's or videos I can refer to?
I'm also wondering if I should find straps to put underneath the tanks. It looks like the frame has slots for straps. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It is normal for the waste tanks to rest on cross members, one usually fixed and the other held in place with screws. You can definitely add straps under the tank if you wish, just use straps wide enough to not “cut into” the tank.

Lots of threads on dropped tanks on the Forest River forum, perhaps several here too.

What is surprising to me is that the tank is "barely" on the bolted in crossmember. It looks as if there's maybe a 1/4" of lip while the other side has at least an inch of lip. MY blackwater tank looks to be the same

You can move the brackets and use the self tapping screws.

that's a good idea. I'll definitely move the one bracket closer when I put the tank back up. Now to figure out how much work is involved re-attaching it

I had the same problem thou it was my black tank which created a bad smell only when it got hot outside. In looking at it after I found the problem I noticed that the brackets holding them up where installed crooked so in traveling the tank fell down some and pulled the discharge pipe out just enough to leak and break the screws holding my grey tank. Not a happy camper until I found the problem my 9 year old granddaughter refused to camp with us.

Hi , just replaced my black tank and it’s a bit of a job but completely easy to do for most DIY’ers . Lots of videos on you tube on how to repair or replace grey and black tanks .It’s very common for these tanks to be held only by two metal supports . It’s not a bad idea if possible to add some extra support as long as it doesn’t cut into your tank by vibration . The best advice is more support is better and try to have no vibration by making the tanks tight in place and use wood or even thin carpet or rubber to pad the tank .

202QBWE here.

I was fascinated that my tanks are held up by straps. There's even a lame-o knot holding the strap on! (pic attached)

@lummy is it possible that you are missing the straps?

There has GOT to be a better solution than some cheesy straps holding the black and gray tanks up.

Quite a few years ago, our grey tank developed a crack on the bottom of the tank, and because it was accessible, I repaired the crack. Because our tanks are barely supported by their lips, I decided to add supports under them. Because the bottom of the tanks are sloped to allow for drainage, I used 1/2" foam board to make blocks of varying thicknesses and adhered them to the bottom of the tanks where 1 1/2" angle iron plus steel channel was already installed. This has worked very well. The photos show the blocking supported by the steel until the adhesive set, then I removed the steel, reinstalled the coroplast and then put the steel back up. The black and grey tanks are fully supported from underneath, in addition to the original lip brackets.
