Solar Upgrade for Fuzion 430

Last March we took delivery of a new Fuzion 430, and we love it. The only thing we regret is not ordering factory installed solar. Our dealer advised us our Fuzion has the solar prep. Has anyone had experience upgrading to solar and what recommendations do you have. We have already decided on a couple of lithium batteries to replace the lead-acid ones that came with our RV.

Hi. I have. 2013 Fuzion that I bought solar panels for. Mine didn’t have the solar prep so I have to plan everything myself I noticed that you have a 2020 GMC as do I and also Harley a 2010 and I have a 2011 I have already use my toy haulier several times with my last truck but just bought the Dually. You’re going to love having bikes along!

Welcome, dude. I'd say if you're gonna go, go big. Budget it out, see what all you would want to run and match the power you will need. I'm going big.

Lithium batteries is a good start for going big. I have a smaller system that works really well for Boondocking.

Check with the converter/inverter manufacturer to be sure they will properly charge lithium batteries, they may need upgraded which further increases the cost of switching to lithium batteries.

I originally thought I'd have it done, but the cost and time limits lead me down the DIY path. I ordered my solar "stuff" today. I listed in another post on this forum. The cost savings is significant. Customizing it to my needs has a lot of value vs. having the dealer or factory install. Variations in floorplan, storage areas, electrical loads and demands are the biggest considerations as to why I went DIY. Using Lithium batteries is the beginning imo, but all the rest are needed to Maximize your set up.. for solar and remote camping.
