Fake mirror above hitch

The mirror above my hitch has lost all of its reflective shine. Not that I care about using it but it doesn’t look very good. Is there some type of polish that I can use to try and get it back to looking somewhat respectable.

My mirror is totally black. I never used it - the viewing angle did not work for me. I bought some vinyl peel-n-stick letters and put our name on it. I have read posts where some folks have removed and replaced the mirror, and some have removed it + cleaned off the adhesive.

Bottom line, there is nothing you can do to restore the original mirror. It's a goner! It will either need to be replaced, painted over, glued over, repurposed, or just left as is.

When I found mine to not be useful. I stuck a large, easy to see bubble level on it. At least made the space useful again.
