Heated Bathroom/Toilet Mod

We picked up a 2022 Passport 282QB on Feb 2022 and have been enjoying a long camping season here on northern Vancouver Island. The trailer has been fantastic and the Solarflex 400 has exceeded my expectations.

My first mod was to heat the bathroom. If anyone notices, there is no vent in the bathroom on a lot of these units and it can get pretty chilly on cold winter mornings in the mountains.

You’ll need a length of duct, furnace knockout, and a vent cover. The valterra one I found at the local RV store is adjustable so we can control the amount of heat in the bathroom to get it just right. The furnace is directly behind the bathroom wall on many floorplans so it’s a short run and easy access.

It does a good job of heating up the porcelain and the room gets toasty warm, perfect for showers!

This is by far the best mod to the comfort of our Passport. We also sealed up all holes in the underbelly for a noticeable improvement in winter camping.

Stay tuned for more updates on El Paso, my report on Solarflex400, and remote camping on Vancouver Island.

Very much looking forward to your report on the Solarflex 400. I have same, haven't used it yet and would like to know more. Only thing the PDI dolt knew was to turn the cutoff switch on or off. Thanks in advance!

Nice work. I'm glad it works for you and meets your expectations. With a duct right behind the toilet, you should always have a WARM toilet seat!

When I first read the title to this thread, I was thinking this was going to be how to electrify the seat to make it heated. Fortunately, this was not how to make the toilet into an electric chair. On our rig, we already have the heat ducted into the toilet room, just haven't figured out how to get A/C in there.
