leaking inlet fresh water valve

Hi''
I have a 2013 RETREAT and I have been trying trying to connect PVC pipe up to the fresh water valve but every time I turn on the water it leaks on the valve, all of my pipe joints are ok, this is the same set up I had on my old trailer no leaks,I am on a pewrmanent site so do not move trailer, also I get away from using hoses.

As soon as I hook back up with hoses everything is ok no leaks.

Can anyone tell me what I might try or do to get the pvc connections from leaking at the valve.

thanks
Rocky

I may be mistaken but the threads for the water inlet are made for garden hose type connections. PVC threads are pipe threads and are not the same as a garden hose threaded connection. You should be able to get an adapter at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

Terydactle. you are right the thrads on the camper are for a garden hose the pvc pipe is most likely pipe thread which is tapered. and yes they do make an adaptor happy pipe fitting!
