Just some info

Purchased the lippert hand rail assist for my steps. Wanting to make it a little easier for mother in law to enter n exit. Talking with lippert only requirement is you must have 3 or 4 step for it to work. Ordered the rail then found out it’s not made to work on the more ride style steps. Difference is more ride steps have a 2” thick side on them. I talked with their tech support which wasn’t much help. I have decided to just purchased longer bolts and drill through the side and bolt the brackets to the steps. I see no reason why this wouldn’t work.

I don't know your exact steps but MorRyde makes extended handles for their steps as well. You can see the tapped holes on the inside edges of the left rail.

What's the expression: If it don't work, get a bigger hammer. In your case, if it don't work, drill more holes! Nothing wrong with that. Few if any RV parts actually fit specific model, year, and make of RV. There is always something missing on any part, or some kind of modification that has to be made to fit on any camper.

Sounds like you are using your head here, figured out a solution, and moving on. Good job!
