West Glacier to West Yellowstone

We are planning a trip for next August going to West Glacier then on to West Yellowstone. Any advice on the best route would be a great help. Thanks

I can't speak about West Glacier but I know my goal from anywhere would be to get to Bozeman and then hwy 191 south through Gallatin...one of the prettiest drives. Easy shot to West Yellowstone. If you stay at the KOA, be sure to stay at Westgate not Mountainside, if your rig is small enough. My 45' Raptor was tight in Westgate but it's much better than Mountainside.

Mountainside is more open and not bad, just less manicured and the gravel was a bit sloppy.
