Bubbles in my rubber roof

We have a 09 Sprinter Select that we bought at the end of 2009. Recently I was checking the roof and noticed several bubbles and a ridge that runs the full width of the trailer. Is this something that I need to have attended to? Is there something I can do and is it a dealer repair item?

A friend of mine who owns an '09 Cougar 5th also has numerous bubbles on his rubber roof as well as a ridge. Just recently, he took his unit into a Keystone dealer and had it examined. He was told that the bubbles are "not uncommon" and that they did not need repair. He will, however, be keeping a close watch on them and the fact that they are there is a bit unsettling to him - despite being told that it is "not uncommon".

Smile Tiny Bubbles

Isn't there a song about tiny bubbles by Don Hoe. The bubbles aren't really something you need to worry about unless they are on the edge where air and water could get under it. My 2010 Sprinter has numerous bubbles caused by poor adhession between the plywood roof and the adhesive. The edges are sealed and unless you rip the rubber roof I would not worry about it. Things like moisture from the wood or just a lack of adhesive in that area will cause the Bubbles as will out gassing from the adhesives. Remember, Larwence Whelk made a lot of money from bubbles.

Park it in direct sun light for a few weeks. The bubbles may go away.
