mikell, Howdy;

One area that needs addressed is skirting.
The further North the more important, and more
durable it needs to be. With my TT in Central Utah
(-40* temps and below 0* for several days in a row at times),
I used 1/2" plywood (with 2 coats of paint on all 6 sides8' sheet
into 2'X8' lengths and used 2"X2"s for the framing. I didn't bother
trimming the bottoms to fit the topography, I created a slit trench
and buried the bottoms, that helped make the trailer more solid as well.
I also made sure that I had a site that allowed me to have the
side of my trailer that has the plumbing run facing South, so I could
have the sun warm that side. Little thing ... but it helps.

hope that helps.

A couple of typos, "your" should be "you're" and "out" should be "our".

Re windows, select a site so that the largest window is facing south, and don't bubble wrap that one. Nothing beats warm sunshine streaming in in the dead of winter.

Re leaving dump valves open all winter, I presume this is suggested because the valves might freeze if left closed? Leaving the black valve open is generally discouraged because it leads to the formation of the dreaded pyramid of poop, especially in winter.

It's the first round draft and will be updated a couple of times a day. Going to give it to all the people moving in and have it out there so it can be updated and such. As far as the pyramid just use lots of water. All tanks are different ours has been open 4 years next month. Not all drain valves are at the tank many are at the end of an exposed line.

Mikell -

On our Alpines, it just happens that the pipe from the toilet has two sixty degree elbows and drops into the black tank immediately in front of the valve. I have no doubts that by using lots of water, it's easy to flush what ever directly through the valve and out. However, not all drops enter the black tank in such fashion. Personally, overall, I believe that leaving the black tank valve open is not wise, no matter how much water is used. One would need to remove the coroplast or the storage wall to check the location of the drop before considering the option of leaving the valve open.

Ok anybody have any good sites to link to besides this one. It seems we have about 10 Montanas out there so a couple might be readung already. Most of these nuke workers travel the country so they really know what they are doing but a few could barely plug themselves in and didn't want to get anywhere near the sewer line
