New RV'r from West TN
Good morning everyone.
Picking up our first TT this coming Saturday. It is a Bullet Crossfire 2730BH.
Looking forward to making some memories with the family, learning new things and just 'unplugging' (at least a little bit).
Most of our trips will probably be in the state of TN, AR and MS.
I'm used to pulling an 18' trailer with a small tractor on it, so hoping not too much of a learning curve for the TT.
Just wanted to say HI!

Lots of experienced folks here willing to help with any questions.
We just spent 10 days in TN and visited several state parks. We were impressed with the parks we saw. Really well kept, managed and priced right

Welcome from south Georgia and congrats on your pending Bullet purchase. I would suggest you complete a thorough PDI (predelivery inspection) with the dealership.
And take your time. Have them show you that everything works. Before you sign the contract you are number one on their "list", and afterwards, not so much. Good luck.

Welcome! Anyone can "PULL" a trailer but not everyone can back up. Suggest you do as I do and ask the campground when making a reservation for a "PULL THROUGH" slot.

Yup, will probably request pull through's but storing at home will require backing up. I've had to back up my 18' flatbed trailer quite often but my little 6.5' trailer is an absolute bear to back up. The shorter they are the harder to backup.

That is true. I have to back my 5th wheel into my slot on my property off the little road along the backside of my property. It is about an 80 degree turn and about a 10-12 ft drop to where it levels. Fortunately I have warned my wife and neighbors to not be in the vicinity when i go through the back-up exercise so there are no witnesses. After owning 4 campers and backing all in over the past years I am not as bad as the first time that I attempted it many years ago. To the folks who told me I would get better with practice.... HAH.

We went from the dealer straight to a large church parking lot to practice backing up and parking. Parking at home required backing up a 300-foot driveway and making a 90-degree turn into the parking spot. Needless to say, the neighbors were very entertained. It works best without "help" (left, oh I meant right...) but then no one believes you if no one is there to see you do it right...

One of my priority purchases will be a back up camera. I have no problem with the drivers side corners but the passenger side can be a bear for me!

Yes, a backup camera is a help, but I find the split trailering mirrors to be the most help. The top half shows the normal side view, and the bottom section is aimed to see where the trailer tires are going. DW frantically waiving her arms takes care of the rest...

I suggest looking into Corp of Engineers parks. Normal price is low but is downright cheap with the Senior pass. You have several around Nashville. Almost all are on a lake or river. Usually LOTS of elbow room.
Look on Amazon for the book “Camping in Corps of Engineers Parks”.

Make sure you check your weights on a scale
We dumped our '16 Tundra after getting on a Cat Scale at the end of a trip. We had a slight cushion for GAWR RR, but were exactly on max GVWR. It's just 2 of us with light weight toys, little water in the trailer and it's 500 lb lighter than yours. It towed OK, but getting a truck was a real eye opener. No wishy washy suspension, rock solid handling, gas mileage didn't change and it doesn't whine going up hill. You "might" be OK, but if you have kids with a bunkhouse...
