Power off for the refrigerator

Just bought my new 354FLS a few weeks ago. My previous 5th wheels had actual power buttons for the fridge, but the new one with a Haier 16cf fridge doesn't seem to have a way to turn the power off. The manuals and messing with it, I can't find a way to power it off when not in use. Even with all switches turned off, the fridge light is still on when opening the door. Anyone know how to actually shut it down when not in use?

If its 120VAC, then look for the breaker. It may also get power from an inverter and you'll need to turn it off also

If yours is a residential refrigerator, like so many other newer models, the only true way to truly turn everything off, including that inside light, is to unplug them.

In my Montana, I have a Samsung. The compressor can be shut down, but the light stays on. I wanted it completely off. After lots and lots of research I finally settled to the fact it is never TRULY off, unless it is unplugged.

I had to unhook mine from the wall, pull it out of it's cabinet so I could reach the plug in the wall behind it, and plugged in a 6 foot heavy duty extension cord with only 1 female plug on the other end. I then left that end of the cord on the floor near the front of the refrigerator where I can easily reach it. I then slid the refrigerator back in it's cabinet, secured it back to the wall and been a happy camper ever since.

Unplugging it from the wall is the only true way to be sure EVERYTHING is powered off, if the camper is plugged into shore power or not, or if the inverter is turned on or not.

In my Montana, flipping the breaker, true, goes to the refrigerator. But it also kills the plugs in a couple other areas of the camper that I don't want turned off. This is not good.

If you do flip the breaker, test all the outlets in your camper and make sure the breaker does not shut down anything else you may need if you leave the camper plugged into shore power. If it does not, then simply flipping the breaker is also a valid way to do it.

Thank you both for the replies. Not ideal to unplug, but if that's it, then I'll have to deal with it.

If it’s similar to my Fuzion it is on a circuit with a GFCI and the TV. You could trip the gfci to shut power off but you’ll lose everything on that circuit…. Also not ideal.
My fridge is in a slide with stove behind island and was plugged in behind fridge which made it impossible to get to plug without pulling doors off fridge and sliding it out. I moved the plug to other side of wall under the oven so now I just slide drawer out, reach in and unplug.
Just an idea

Thanks Skillet. I'll look at it and see if there is something I can do that isn't a pain in the rear.

You can get remote plug-ins for outlets both rf operated and wired. Don't buy a wifi remote plug unless you always have wifi available.

I throw the breaker a couple days before backing it into storage, and throw it back on a couple days before a trip. Kind of a moot point if any other outlets are involved.
I have a small door on the exterior to access the plug if needed.
