? Sangchris lake state park - IL. ?

Anyone been there? Gonna meet my brother there next month. I’m bringing the camper, he’s bringing the kayaks.
Any tips? Good restaurants nearby for dinner’s?

I had to look it up. I've heard of it, but not been there.
Looks like it's in the middle of not a whole lot! My kind of place!
The only places I've been to anywhere close are in Springfield.
Neither are fancy.
Cozy Dog on old Rt. 66 for awesome corn dogs and Charlie Parker's for breakfast.
Guy Fieri was at Charlie's once and I think the Travel Channel was at Cozy Dog.
Both have very good food, for what they are.
Definitely not 5 star food, but still good.

Looking forward to what you think of the campground.

If you want a campground that doesn’t get many people, caveinrock state park, in Illinois. Nice little campground.
Also, I looked on the states website, the world shooting complex in Sparta. Lots of open sites.

We went! Had a great time. Even caught a few fish. Campground was nice. Spots where spread out. Site hosts where wonderful.
About half the sites, at the one we where at, has lake front. There where even a few docks scattered about.

If you reserve a spot here, a word of caution- pay attention when you reserve your site! I didn’t, by the time I figured it out, the spot I wanted had been reserved and I lost a couple bucks.
Two campgrounds here, when I clicked the site, it showed both site numbers at both campgrounds. When I told the site host what happened, they weren’t surprised ! They said it wasn’t the first time.

Looks like a nice place!
Thanks for the heads up on the reservations. Our favorite local CG doesn't have numbers on the sites, which makes it a bit confusing when trying to reserve a particular one.
